A Break from Blogging

Posted by Otaku Dan

Today I took a little break from blogging because I have been needing it. I have been making posts every single day since April 26 2008 and it has been getting tough to continue like that. I know there are others blogs that do have daily posts but most of those blogs are team blogs with 2 or more people.

It felt a little good taking a small break because for one night did not even touched my computer and I went to bed early for the first time in months. I have been thinking of blogging every other day but it would be hard for me since I made blogging into a daily habit.

So, I decided to take a couple of days off from blogging because I want to use those days to focus more on school and I don't want to burn out on blogging. For those who are wondering, I have made some posts schedule added of time for my readers.

Daily blogging is not going to be good in the long run. You should take a good break, post occasionally when you feel like it, etc. It helps a lot. No need to add further stress for yourself over something personal.

I remember getting bogged down by life recently. Many fellow bloggers reminded me that blogging should not be looked upon like a task or something you have to do - as this will start to become a chore for you. Just take your time and blog when you feel like it; remember quality > quantity!

yup i gave Q the same advice as what is written above. slowing down on posting also means that your readers will have more time to read your other posts cos not all readers will come in daily.

I like 3 posts a week myself. When I first started though I made posts every day like CRAZY!

In order to have at least one blog post a day, I try to have a backlog of completed posts. One nice feature of Blogger is that I can schedule those posts, so even as I write here, I have entries going to the 18th. Obviously, the advantage of this is that if I want to take a day or two off, I can. Now that I'm rejoining the ranks of the employed, it will become even more important to me.
