Dreamcast: 10 years later

Today is the 10 year anniversary of the Sega Dreamcast in North America. To be honest, it feels like it was yesterday when I was huddle up with my friends looking at the picture of the Dreamcast in GamePro magazine. We were so excited for this revolutionary system because of the online capabilities, that awesome memory card, and the games.

I remember the first time I every played the Dreamcast. I had a cousin who his mom bought him a Dreamcast and on their way back from the mall, they decided to visit my family. He could not wait to get home so he hooked it up to my TV and turned it on. We took turns playing Sonic Adventure and Power Stone.

Then I met a friend back in middle school who was a big Dreamcast fan. Because of him I was introduced to Soul Calibur, Shenmue, and Marvel vs. Capcom: Clash of Super Heroes. I was saving my money to buy my very own Dreamcast but then the PlayStation 2 came out.

It is very sad that the Dreamcast was discontinued in less than 3 years, but on the bright side there are some companies who are still making Dreamcast games. For example: Redspot Games. So, do you have any fond memories of the Sega Dreamcast?
