Otaku Dan: The Life of an Anime Fan

It has finally happened, I have burned myself out with anime and blogging. I believe that some people have been suspecting that I burned out on blogging because I have been making posts every two days. I'm not even visiting or commenting other blogs like I use to and I feel bad about that. I was not even checking out my blog's email I personally feel that I have alienated the otaku/anime blogging community and deeply apologies for that.

I burned out on anime about 3 weeks ago. I was watching To Aru Majutsu no Index and I was enjoying it a lot but then I just stopped watching anime all together. The last time I was burned out with anime was back in 2006. I did not watch or talked about anime for a good 9 months. The anime that ignited that dim flame with in me was Genshiken. For me to have my interest revamped, I need to watch an anime that I have never seen before and it has to have a good feeling to it. I hope that Summer Wars is the cure.

For blogging, I need to do something different. I want to report on anime news but ANN covers that already. So, what I'm going to do is that I will express my thoughts on the matter in a intelligent way. I also would like to interview well known celebrities in the fandom and people from the industry but for that, I need to clean up my blog so it can be taken more serious. I'm hoping that these changes will get me out of my rut. So, how to you get out of your burn out period, do you wait it out or do you do something about it?

YAY, that new Bleach season 4 box set is out. Wait a minute, its the Bount saga better known as filler saga number one. This is not going to end well.

Season 1, 2, and 3 box sets have such great packaging, it included 20 to 22 episodes, and it had nice extras like posters, trading cards, post cards, and stickers. season 4 box set part 1 has cheap packaging, 16 episodes, and no extras.


If you are a Bleach fan just skip season 4 part 1 and 2 box sets. Knowing me, I'm going to get part 2 just because I like to keep everything nice and uniformed and because I'm a whore. Viz Media, clean up your act.

Thanksgiving is the day that one should give thanks to what they have. This holiday has evolved into a day off of work to watch the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade and Football all day and at night, to eat mass amounts of food. Most holidays have turned into that but I have a small issue to the holiday, the giving thanks part. In my opinion, a person should give thanks to what they have everyday, not once a year.

I'm thankful for:
Having a loving family
Having the greatest girlfriend ever
The growth of my blog
The readers of my blog who come back everyday
Having such a sweet computer rig
Being blessed

Rei Ayanami -Plug Suit Version- by Kotobukiya is currently my favorite figure of all time(sorry Tomoe, you have been replaced). Her expression, pose, texture, and paint is marvelous. I regret not getting this figure when she came out 2 years ago. The one thing that does bother me about the figure are the small panel lines, some of the paint got smudged but it is easily fixed. This is the first time that I'm using a cloth background instead of paper, tell me what you think of it?

Oh look, a box was delivered to me yesterday. This past week a lot of great things happened to me and I felt that it would be nice to reward myself. I'm really glad that Yotsuba&! volume 6 came out. I have been waiting over a year and a half for it to come out and now I have it, I'm happy. I'm also happy that I found that Rei figure at a good price because she is usually very expensive.

The only figure that I would get from this batch would be Index. She looks very cute and the detail of the figure is great. For some reason, the Girl Friend figure reminded me xxxHolic, it must be those really long legs. Figma fans would adore that cute Fate figure. So, what are you going to preorder?
