Blank Slate by Kanno Aya Vol 1


What would you do if you couldn’t remember your own past? A)Find out who you are? B)Start over as someone new (hey you might have horrible debts, you never know). C)Go on random killing sprees while doing whatever seems interesting. Well our Zen, of Blank Slate, chooses C. Zen's memory has been wiped, he doesn’t know if he was a good guy or bad, and a lot of people will do anything they can to keep it that way. So he has decided that he no longer cares; is consumed with desire to be destructive, to kill, commit atrocities and whatever else he feels like doing. Zen's charm and good looks attract people, like moths to a flame. Most, to their regret.



I would rate this manga a 2 out of 5. This manga had good points and bad points. The good- Zen is hot! (I’m shallow). Shojo Beat actually has a intense, suspenseful, violent action manga. There is good (fun for me) chemistry between the characters. The bad- The storytelling seemed rather detached. The action scenes at times seemed wooden and kinda boring. Zen needed to show some emotion. Like rage, crankiness, or something so he didn’t seem like a robot. (a Hot robot) I think that she tried but it didn’t work for me as a nice violent, evil, action manga. Now some of you might like it. But I would suggest taking a look at it first. Not doing what I did, just looking at the hot guy on the cover and then buying it.

I have always wanted a Dakimakura but price is somewhat of an issue for me. The covers themselves are usually priced around $80 - $100 USD. The main reason why I got the Dengeki magazine was because its cost $50 USD and it comes a dakimakura cover. As for the body pillow, I ordered it from Wal-mart for the low price of $17 USD.

Have not done one of these posts in a while. I was pretty much browsing J-List the other day. I found one of those surgical masks with the print of a cute anime girl on it. I was going to original buy it for the hell of it. However, I bought something else, I got............................

As you can see, Otakudan.com has gotten a well needed make over. For a while, I felt that the old layout became somewhat stagnant. I had been using it for about 2 years. I was planning to have a new one around January but college and life took most of my time. I decided yesterday that I was going to sit down and not get up until I had a new layout.

I really like this layout. It looks very clean and bright, At the moment, I'm still not done fixing it, I need a new banner that matches the color scheme. I'm also thinking of moving the blog roll bar to its own page. As you can see, its really long and I may remove inactive blogs from it.

So, what you do think of the new layout?

What is this? License This is back after a 4 month hiatus. I have not been able to do one of these due to being very busy with life. Now, Today I will cover gag anime that I would like to see get licensed. The Series I will cover are Detroit Metal City, Astro Fight Sunred, and Arakawa Under the Bridge.

Detroit Metal City: Negishi is a nice gentle young man who dreams to be a pop musician. However, he's the lead singer and guitarist of a death metal band called Detroit Metal City. Since he has a double life, he tries to please both sides but he sucks at it. Most of the humor comes from seeing the hilarious situations that Negishi get into because of his stupidity. The one company I would see picking this title up is either Media Blasters or Sentai Works. Funimation would not pick this up because of the comedic over use of the word rape.

Astro Figher Sunred: Imagine, a sentai hero living a regular life with his girlfriend and the evil organization that the hero once fought against got regular lives as well. This is the premise of this anime. Most of the comedy coming from seeing these monsters who look terrifying but they act like normal nice people. What I found to be really funny was the "hero" Sunred, he's a jerk who smokes a lot. I can see Funimation picking up this anime because of the humor.

Arakawa Under the Bridge: Shaft made it and Nino-san is cute. thats all you need to know. Funimation, pick this up.

I remember back when I was in middle school, my friends were talking about this cool new fighting game that the movie theater. The weekend came along and I saw the new arcade machine with people lining up to play it. I waited about 45 minutes before it was my turn to play. When I finally reach the front there it was, Marvel vs. Capcom 2. Seeing Marvel and Capcom characters in the same game was mind blowing. Hearing the cool Jazz music blasting. Pulling off Jaw-dropping combos was euphoric. At the time, Marvel vs. Capcom 2 was an experience. When I heard that after 10 years, Marvel vs Capcom 3 was announced, It was heartwarming for me.


I saw the trailer for Marvel vs. Capcom 3, and I was impressed. Seeing the in-game character designs was somewhat interesting because it reminds me of Street Fighter 4. By the way it looks like, Capcom may use the SF4 game engine which is not a bad thing. It's just different. I will say it, the bar it set very high for Marvel vs. Capcom 3. If Capcom somehow screws up this game, I think there may be violent protests at their headquarters.

After reading the benefits of having a office plant, I wanted to get one for my desk. The main reason why I wanted a plant is to bring some life in to my room. Originally, I was going to get a small pet but i don't have the space for it.

The plant I was looking for was a Dracaena Compacta. However, this one was cheaper and it included a real pot only for $5 USD. So, do you own plants as well and what tips can you give me to so Yui can stay alive.

In the past, I have posted about how I reused old CD cases for a figure stage. It was nice for a while but when ever I bump into it, it would tip over. I was researching on alternative stands but it was not worth it. So, I decided to build my own stand while still reusing those CD cases.

First, decide on the design you want your stand to have. Now, take your hot glues gun and start gluing the sides that need to be together. You can use the same method if you want to make it tall. When the glue cools down, use your x-acto knife to remove any extra glue.


Before you start gluing together CD cases, you should remove the boarder that is on top of the case. If you don't, it will make the figure lean to the side. This is going to be the most time consuming part of the project if you do not have a dremel. If you don't own a dremel, sand paper work or the x-acto knife work fine as well.


Now this is the fun part, get your clear tape and cover the entire start with it. Be careful while applying the tape because you need to avoid making bubbles and folds. After that is done, get strong cardboard and tape it to the areas where the figures are going to be standing.

It's the middle of the month and you know what time it is. Mid April figure preorder time. There are several interesting new figures up for preorder. Come on in and check them out.

Mari Makinami New Plug Suit Version by Wave. This figure will come out in late September for the price of 3,740 Yen.

Nendoroid Takane Manaka by Good Smile Company. This figure will be coming in August for the price of 2,833 Yen.

Nendoroid Francesca Lucchini by Good Smile Company. This figure will come out in July for the price of 3,238 Yen.

Kureha Swimsuit Version by Max Factory. This figure will come out in September for the price of 5,505 Yen.

At the moment, nothing is catching my attention. I will say that Xecty looks great and Takane is pretty cute. I'm a little glad that GSC is starting to release Strike Witches Nendoroids. It has been over a year since the last one came out. So, What will you be preordering?
