First Thoughts: Winter 2011 Anime Season Part 3

This is it, the last part of my first thoughts of the winter 2011 anime season. Today I'll be covering, Kore wa Zombie Desu ka?, Dragon Crisis!, and Wandering Son.

Kore wa Zombie Desu ka? is really funny. When I heard that the main character is a zombie because he was murdered and a cute necromancer brought him back to life to find his killer, I found it odd. However, for a crude comedy anime like this, it makes total sense. The only reason I'm going to keep watching this anime, is to see how ridicules it can get. By the way, the first episode has pantie shots, the one type that nobody likes. I'm giving it a 3.5 out of 5.

Dragon Crisis! was ok. After moments of watching this anime, I forgot what it was about. The only thing I can remember is Rose, the cute blonde dragon girl that acts like a Pokemon. At least, the animation looks pretty. I'm giving it a 2.5 out 5.

Wandering Son is good, really good. This is pretty much a character drama on a group of middle school freshmen. This anime mostly focus on Nitori, an effeminate boy and Yoshino, a girl who wants to wear boys clothing. This anime is actually bringing up the topic of gender identity in a serious way. The music and scenery is just beautiful. I'm giving this anime a 5 out of 5.
