Changing My Room: 2011 Edition Part 1

Originally, I was going to start remodeling my room during my spring break vacation. What happened was that I bought a poster off of Marmar04, the guy that runs my IRC channel. Since I like to frame my posters, I went out and bought one. While I was in the store, there was a sale on bookcases and I got it as well. I decided not to wait for my vacation and started remodeling.

Doing the finishing touches to a 3 shelf bookcase. I'm moving all of my manga to both bookcases.

I ripped off the big shelving unit from my wall. I feel that I no longer need it anymore. The paint that is left on the wall makes it look like someone wiped their ass will my wall.

Thank you for your service for the last few years. You have been a pain in the ass.

The room looks better like this, it feels more opened. I also like that I can use the top of the bookcase to display my Nendoroids and Gunpla. I need to make space so, I can once again proudly display my Figma figures.

For the time being, I using my 5 shelf bookcase to display my figures.

I'm using CD jewel case to prop up the figures in the back. I have done this before and it works very well.
To finish this project, I need to paint my room, get a new desk, and build the figure display stands. I think I'll have this done in about a month and it shouldn't be too hard to complete.

Working on a Photography Portfolio

As any aspiring professorial photography knows, one must have a portfolio if they want to get jobs. I had heard stories that people rush and make a portfolio in the matter of day and it comes out like crap. This kind of thing takes a lot of time to make. In this post, I have several pictures that are fighting for a spot in my portfolio.

Here, there's something anime related so you won't be bored.

Tell me what you think of the first four pictures in a comment below.

Weekly Picture 25

Theraflu does wonders for me while I was sick. I was just a mess, I had 2 horrible fevers and no appetite. I'm feeling much better now.

Just dusting my figures. I use to do this about twice a month but, I have been very busy. When I was placing my figures back on to the shelves, it finally happened, I ran out of space for my figures. I had this problem in the past and the way I fixed was to rearrange my collection. However, that did not work. It seems that I cannot buy figures until I have more space.

There is a good reason why I don't own that many cast-off figures. The paint of the clothes sometimes rubs off on the figure.

I have a lot of these plaster patches on my walls. I decided that during my spring break, I'm going to paint my room.

This is what I cook for dinner everyday. I sometimes replace the baby spinach with brown rice. I use both black and red peppers on my chicken, it's pretty spicy but I like it.

I mentioned on Twitter that I get my eyebrows done. I hate having bushy brows, I need to get them fixed on the weekend.

Later in the week, I decided to just redesign my entire room. I'm going to take my time with this project, do it little by little.

What I've Learned from Blogging

It was about 2 years ago, I made a post titled Why Do We Blog?. To summarize that post, I pretty much wrote about my reasons for blogging and why love doing it. Not too long ago, my site turned 3 years old and it really didn't hit me until recently what I have learned from this experience.

I learned so much about myself just from blogging. I have learned when I want something, I will get it. It doesn't matter how long or how much work it will take, I will get it. This is a good thing but at the same time, its bad because I can get very obsessive and lose focus of other things. If I had never started blogging, I would have never discovered my love for photography. The moment I decided to because a professional photographer, it felt right.

If it was not for blogging, I would have never met such amazing and interesting people. I would mention them all but, it's a long list. These amazing people make me want to grow as a person and work harder to better myself.

There is one lesson that I've learned from blogging, that if I'm happy with the out come of something I made, then it's good. Maybe that is why I love blogging, because for me, it's always changing. So, what have you learned from blogging?

Figure Photo Shoot: Kirino Kousaka

I finally have my cute 1/8 Kirino Kousaka by Kotobukiya. What I personally like about this Kirino figure is that the character design is reminiscent of the manga adaptation of Ore no Imouto ga Konna ni Kawaii Wake ga Nai. Lets take a look at how cute Kirino is.

There is something interesting about the base. It pops out and you can insert one of two clear plastic sheets.

Here's the second plastic insert.

By the way, her skirt comes off. I like that attention to detail that even her bra peeks out.

For those who missed the first batch of this figure, you can preorder the secondary production of this figure over at Hobby Search.

I'm Fixing up an SLR Camera

A long time ago, my grandfather gave me his old SLR camera. He told that I will find it useful in the future. I didn't give that much thought a few years back, but now it seems that it has. The thing is, this camera has not been used for about 2 decades. I have a lot of work ahead of me.

My "new" camera is a Pentax ME Super, it came out in 1980. This camera is older that me.

OH MY GOD, WHAT THE HELL IS THAT SH*T?

After calming down from discovering that stuff, I did some closer inspection of it. I still don't know what that brown stuff but, I wore gloves when I was cleaning it.

The inside of the lens is pretty dirty. I'll be honest, I don't know how to clean the inside of a lens. If anyone knows, tell me in a comment below.

It's nice and clean. I just need to get batteries and film to see if it works.
Do you own an actual SLR camera and if so, what is your opinion on it?
