ThinkGeek Order

For a very long time, I have been a fan of the products at ThinkGeek. I really don't know why I never ordered from them before, but I finally did.

Even the box is awesome.

I got my sister the "You Never Forget Your First Doctor" t-shirt. She's the Doctor Who fan of the family.

As for myself, I got the Caffeine Mug. I have always wanted a clear mug.
I have already looking at what I'm going to order next from ThinkGeek. That Lilliput Mini USB Monitor looks appealing to my eyes.

Nintendo 3DS: is it worth it?

With the release of Nintendo's new handheld system, the 3DS. I want to look at the pros and cons of this system. This is to help me decide if I'm going to buy it or not.

Pros:
  • The analog stick
  • 2GB of internal memory and it has a SD card slot
  • Virtual Console that will have Gameboy, Gameboy Color, TurboGrafx, and Game Gear games.
  • Netflix and 3D movies
  • improved graphics
  • 3D gaming
  • Amazing preloaded software
  • only one friend code per system for online gaming

Cons:
  • Short Battery life
  • Region locked
  • Some of the online features are not going to be active until May
  • Some DS games do not work
  • The ratio aspect of the top screen sucks while playing DS games
  • The price point
  • As of right now, the Virtual Console doesn't have Gameboy Advance games

It's a damn shame that the 3DS is region locked. I enjoy buying and playing imported games. Now to do that, I would have to buy a Japanese 3DS. I'm hoping that Nintendo releases a firmware update to fit that problem that plagues their consumers. I'm happy that Nintendo fixed that whole friend code problem. Having to look-up or memorize multiple friend codes is pretty annoying. I will say that the 3DS is a great handheld console with some problems that can be overlooked. If you're planning to get a 3DS, do not trade in your DS lite, DSi, or DSi XL. I will be buying one but, it's not a high priority for me. What are your thoughts on the 3DS?

Changing My Room: 2011 Edition The Final Part

The day before I painted my room, , I bought my paint, taped up any areas that I don't want to paint, and moved a bunch of heavy furniture. It was a great idea but, I should have done it during the daytime when I had energy.

I got Glidden Mountain Slate Blue.

I ran out of paint before I could do the trims. While I was at the store getting my paint prepared, I found this nice paint brush/sponge thing. Its freaking amazing when doing the trims.

Waiting fot the paint to dry so I can put everything back in its place.

Here's the final product. I like how the color makes the posters pop out.

When I moved the bookcase that contains my figures, I found out that it was going to collapse. I had to reinforce it so it would not fall over. It is a bit wobbly, but it should be fine if its not pushed.
I am planning to replace the bookcase that I use for my figures with a couple of Detolf case. However, that will have to wait until I replace my desk, finish fixing up my desktop, and getting a DSLR. I should get a new job first before getting those things.

Changing My Room: 2011 Edition Part 2

Before I paint and redesign my room, I had to get rid of a lot of stuff. I managed to fill two trash bags of things I had saved this past year. While in the processes of getting rid of things, I decided to get rid of my video game cabinet, it took up space that I needed. I'm glad that made enough space for my video games and controllers.

I had a habit of buying really bad bootlegs for that laughs. This happens to be the funnies bootleg poster I have ever seen, it's titled Gundam Seed Destiny but RX-78-2 from Mobile Suit Gundam is on it.

This is also pretty bad, this cellphone bag that has Rei Ayanami but she's holding a can of UCC coffee.

I also found the cover for the first issue of Newtype USA I ever bought.

I started covering up the holes in the walls before I paint. If I have free time this weekend, I'll paint.

I decided to go with this color, it looks nice. If I do find a shade with a bit of blue in it, I'll get it instead.
I may get a new desk, the one I have is a bit on the small side. I also have to figure out a new layout in my room, I greatly dislike how it is right now.

Weekly Picture 28

Arete, it translates to virtue but, it really means "be the best that you can be". I had to do a 2 page paper on that single word and the significance behind it. I almost lost my mind.

I got bored of the poses that I had my Master Grade Gundam model kits. I got the idea that I wanted to display them as if they were flying, the thing is, I only have the Action Base that is made for High Grade model kits. I also have an Action Base for Master grade but it's red, I would only use that for a model kit that Char piloted.

The docking part of the Action Bases are too narrow, I had to sand it down by a few millimeters.

As you can see, it worked. However, it looks too unstable to hold up a Master Grade. I'll stop being cheap and order the appropriate Action Bases for my model kits.

Here's a shoot of super moon, the detail is amazing.

I haven't been able to play much of Pokemon Black this past week. As of now, I have 7 badges and Pokemon are in between level 40 to 50. I need to do some hardcore training before I get to the last Gym battle. Part of me wants to cheat and get an Action Replay device, but I probably wont do it. My sense of justice and morality will stop me from doing that.
